Translation

We specialize in translating various genres from Western Armenian into English. These include printed, handwritten and audio materials, long and short: from family memoirs, letters and historical documents to literary works, academic articles, primary source documents, oral history interviews, and everything in between. We also translate materials on Armenian themes from French into English.

Editing 

As editors, we work with native and non-native speakers of English to perfect their academic work and passion projects. As copy editors, we put the finishing touches on books and articles. As line editors, we enhance style and flow to ensure clarity and  readability. As developmental editors, we work one-on-one with writers at any stage of the writing process, from rough drafts to polished prose. We provide detailed feedback, offer non-judgmental guidance on argumentation, and develop strategies for your revisions. We welcome all projects and specialize in Armenian, Ottoman, and Middle Eastern topics.

Academic & Family History Research Assistance

We assist academics and family history researchers in identifying and securing historical and scholarly sources for their work. The rate below includes one virtual hour-long meeting to discuss your project along with a 500-word bibliography of sources that relate to your topic, including information about where and how you can access them.

​We also offer English-language summaries of sources written in Western Armenian, Eastern Armenian and French to facilitate your research process and determine directions for further exploration.

Family History Reports

We support family history researchers by preparing original reports on pre-genocide life in their ancestral towns or villages based on Armenian-language sources. The contents of these reports are determined by the kinds of information of greatest interest to the researcher (economic life, social customs, folklore, dialect, etc.).

​Included in the research for each report is a search through Armenian-language sources for people of interest to the researcher. While we cannot promise to find specific ancestors, we can promise to help researchers better understand the textured worlds their ancestors inhabited before emigration.

$400 (one 2,000-word report and one virtual hour-long meeting, if desired, to address any questions raised by the report)

Consulting for Major Projects

We act as consultants to filmmakers, archivists, museum curators, authors, and other creative minds looking to ensure that their Armenian-related projects are rigorous and historically accurate. Both single-meeting consultations and long-term arrangements are available, including on-site and remote work for libraries, historical societies, archives, and cultural institutions.
